About me...

Hi, I'm Vicki and I'm the owner of Stargazer Dogs.

I live near the south coast of Cornwall with my youngster, Perrin, and our three dogs - Cosmo, Celeste and Lily.

In 2019 I decided to take a new direction in life and retrain as a dog trainer - something quite different from my previous career.  I can honestly say that I've never been happier!

I trained with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and became a qualified member of their organisation in February 2020.  I continue to improve my professional development with the IMDT, Canine Principles, Absolute Dogs and the Victoria Stillwell Academy to ensure that my knowledge remains up to date and relevant.

In the summer of 2021, I signed up for the Absolute Dogs "Pro Dog Trainer" course and successfully passed a few months later.  I am totally committed to using ethical and kind training methods, without the use of force or fear, instead focusing on helping to change the way a dog feels in order to change their behaviour.  My training style uses games to help dogs learn the life skills that they need to live successfully in our homes.  I work together with owners to help their dogs make better choices in everyday life.

(By the way, I've named my business in memory of my former Afghan Hound, Pandora, whose Kennel Club name was Stargazer.  Pandora shared her life with her constant companion, Lunar the whippet, and these two dogs were my dearest friends and companions until we lost them both in the Spring of 2019).
